Riyadh's 20 new parks span over 180,000m2

In the interest of creating attractive communal points for the inhabitants and encouraging social cohesion, Riyadh has opened 20 new parks for the public, accessible within a 10-minute walk. The SPA reported that under the patronage of Prince Mohammed bin Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh region, an inauguration ceremony was held for the announcement, and was attended by Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, the Mayor of Riyadh region.

The new public spaces are spread across 18 residential districts, encompassing a combined area of 181,225 sq m.


The new parks are located in these areas:

  • Janadriyah
  • Dhahrat Laban
  • Al Mansoura
  • Dirab
  • Al Narjis
  • Ash Shuhada
  • Al Yasmin
  • Al Yarmouk
  • Al Munsiyah
  • Al Khaleej
  • Al Qadisiyah
  • Cordoba
  • Al Rimal
  • Al Rabie
  • Al Mughrizat
  • Al Uraija
  • Al Gharbiyah
  • Al Aziziyah

The parks’ total area of green spaces reached 50,000 sq m, including over 7,000 trees and shrubs. Moreover, they are equipped with pedestrian paths spanning over 62,000 linear meters. They also comprise 56 recreational areas and 6 playgrounds, accompanied by parking spaces for approximately 1,000 vehicles, and more than 750 decorative lampposts.
