Hewlette Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced its intent to launch a new production site in Riyadh, which is predicted to contribute up to $500 million to Saudi GDP.
The project will be done in partnership with the digital solutions manufacturer Alfanar, supporting highly skilled jobs and developing the Saudi technology ecosystem. Together, HPE and Alfanar will produce thousands of units annually from the leading HPE ProLiant Gen11 server family.
“Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s intention to establish local production capabilities in Saudi Arabia supports the Kingdom’s ambition to become a high tech manufacturing hub and will play a vital role in developing a thriving digital economy,” said HE Eng. Haitham bin Abdul Rahman Al-Ohali, the Vice Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
The project will be sponsored by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Investment and the Local Content, and Government Procurement Authority.
