According to an official source, leading Saudi-based telecom provider Integrated Telecom Co. (Salam) has signed four strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of strengthening Saudi’s telecom and digital infrastructure.

The agreements signed with EDGNEX Data Centres by Damac, a Dubai-based digital infrastructure company, along with Cinturion, a global provider of integrated submarine and terrestrial capacity-based network solutions, and Emaar, The Economic City (EEC), the master developer of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) will allow all four companies to team up and develop a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure hub, supporting the Saudi national digital economy strategy, and contributing to the Saudi 2030 Telecommunication Transformation Vision, guided by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT).

As reported, the digital infrastructure hub will include initiatives such as an international submarine cable project, data centres, fibre infrastructure, cloud-internet building, setting an innovative-digital experience in KAEC, supporting the economic city’s contributions to the transformation programme, and accelerating the digital economy and quality of life programmes under Saudi Vision 2030.

Ahmed AlAnqari, CEO of Salam, said: “As a recognised Telecom & ICT Service provider, SALAM is delighted to participate with distinguished parties in this strategic initiative that goes in-line with the Saudi National Digital Economy Strategy and SALAM’s transformation plans. Creating an Integrated Digital Hub enables multi-services to all targeted customers national and globally from one place.”

“Our partnership with Salam, EDGNEX Data Centres, and Cinturion is another step towards making KAEC one of the world’s leading digital hubs.
