At the Leaders in KSA Construction Summit, Construction Week dug deep into the Kingdom’s entertainments sector, and its importance in driving the nation’s growth.
Construction Week’s editor, Ranju Warrier spoke with Kostas Dimitros, business development director at Parsons, and William Hitch, regional director for KSA at Compass Project Consulting at “The Growth of Entertainment Projects in KSA” panel during the conference.
Dimitros discussed the challenges that the company faced while working on the Triple Bay Project within AMAALA.
He said: “It is another unique project that brings unique challenges. The lack of infrastructure and accommodations caused challenges in the supply chain.”
When complete, Triple Bay will offer a wellness retreat, diagnostic medical facilities, as well as comprise a sports and entertainment community.
The coastal development will feature an arts museum and cultural district, along with an amphitheatre for live performances.
Dimitros added: “You have to be very protective and manage contractors that move a lot of cubic meters of sand.
“Additionally, you need to find the methods that don’t interrupt the environment, modular construction, as well as the use of materials.”
On a concluding note, Dimitros said: “The engagement between Parsons and AMAALA was like a partnership because you need to allow the consultant and the contractor to think outside the box.
“Such projects are very unique and I am excited to play a part.”
Parsons was appointed last year to work on the Triple Bay Project within AMAALA, overseeing the execution for Phase 1.
