SCA Governor Eng Thabet Al Sweid headlines BIM Saudi event

BIM Saudi Arabia Conference and Expo 2022 is being held at the Riyadh Airport Marriott Hotel

Mega construction and infrastructure projects are underway as part of Saudi Vision 2030, offering unprecedented opportunities for Building Information Modelling (BIM), GIS and related technology.

In line with this, BIM Saudi Arabia Conference and Expo 2022 (BIM Saudi Arabia), being held at the Riyadh Airport Marriott Hotel in Saudi Arabia on May 30 and 31, will discuss the theme: Open BIM & Digital Twins: The Key To Industry 4.0.

On 30 May – the first day of the conference – the Governor of Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA), Eng Thabet Al-Suwaid, gave the opening speech at the event, which went on highlight the latest developments in BIM and saw the participation of several industry experts.

The two-day conference (today is the second day) also includes a workshop on the latest developments in building information modelling (BIM), digital twins, GIS, digital design, digital construction, digital transformation, 3D Printing, and related technology.

BIM Saudi Arabia has been organised in partnership with event partner SCA, and strategic partners buildingSMART International and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).

Meanwhile, presentations will focus on full lifecycle asset management from project concept and design and project management to post-construction asset management.

Additionally, BIM Saudi Arabia is also conducting presentations from government and private sector organisations, which are at the forefront of Saudi Arabia’s construction industry and megaprojects as part of Saudi Vision 2030, along with international organisations that are the leaders in smart sustainable construction and built asset management.

Attendees for the event include but are not limited to major contractors and civil engineering organisations, plus representatives from government; megaprojects, infrastructure developers; oil & gas; property developers; architects; consultants; and industry associations, providing guests with the perfect opportunity to network and meet target markets.

Additionally, the exhibition is also conducting an interactive workshop on day two – which is today – on understanding and applying Open Standards BIM and IFC.
