Saudi Arabia’s Obeikan Glass Company has announced plans to go ahead with establishing a second float glass production line at the company’s existing plant located in the Royal Commission for Yanbu, with a production capacity of 650 tons per day.
The second production line will contribute to the production of new types of float and tinted glass used in the automotive industry, construction, and mirrors.
The project is worth approximately $138.5 million (SAR520 million) and will be financed by government funding institutions, bank loans, and the company’s internal cash resources.
The new line is expected to be completed and begin commercial production in 2027.
In a statement to the Saudi bourse Tadawul on Tuesday, the company said the expansion aims to enhance production capacity to meet the growing market demand and aligns with its strategic objectives.
