The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is getting ready to host the Future Projects Forum (FPF) organized by the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) and supported by HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Emir of Riyadh. The two-day forum will run from 21 to 22 March in Riyadh.

Companies from more than 30 public and private sectors will review over 1,000 projects with a total value of more than $160bn (SAR600bn).

Eng Zakaria bin Abdulrahman Al-Abdulqader, chairman of the Board of Directors of the SCA, stressed that Prince Faisal’s support for the conference reflected the interest by the kingdom’s leadership in the construction sector, and comes in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Eng Al-Abdulqader highlighted the contracting sector’s vital roles in the implementation of mega and gigaprojects, through localisation, including the implementation of technologies as well as improvement of local content programmes. This will further enable sectors to have a significant share in the growth of local content and thereby support the economic development of the country.

Future Projects Forum – an interactive platform for the industry

According to Eng Thabet Mubarak Al-Suwaid, Secretary-General of SCA, the fourth edition of the FPF takes place after a challenging period caused by the Covid-19 and follows the government’s announcement of megaprojects and executive programmes aligned with the Saudi vision 2030.

Al-Suwaid pointed out that the forum is anticipated to attract the interest of contractors and other stakeholders who’ve been interested in the proposed mega and gigaprojects. The forum is an interactive platform that links public and private project owners together with contractors and specialists.

As part of the forum, stakeholders in the sector will be honoured under the “Excellence Awards in the Contracting Sector” initiative, which is presented by the SCA to highlight the best practices in the sector for individuals, organisations, and others.

The FPF in Riyadh has been a catalyst in building decision-makers, professional networks, and improving the construction sector’s business, and discovering new investment opportunities by improving future plans and decisions while expanding knowledge and obtaining solutions directly from the authorities and employees of the sector.
